What’s The Difference Between Dynamic Media And Template Media

Pirsonal is a flexible marketing personalization software. Through the software, users can automatically create personalized videos, interactive videos with personalized Calls to Action, and dynamic landing pages.

When making personalized videos and interactive videos, users have two groups of media source content:

  1. Dynamic Media
  2. Template Media

In this article, you’ll learn the difference between Dynamic Media and Template Media.

Difference Between Dynamic Media and Template Media

In Pirsonal, Dynamic Media layers or objects are images, videos, text, or audio personalization fields. When an object is set as a Dynamic Media it is available for personalization.

This means that when a personalized video template or an interactive video project has objects configured as Dynamic Media, you’ll need to provide the content at run time.

Only the following objects can be Dynamic Media:

  • Video
  • Image
  • Audio
  • Text

For video, image, and audio Dynamic Media objects the Pirsonal platform expects a URL. Optionally, you can provide the object’s ID instead if you are using Pirsonal’s API and the file is stored with Pirsonal.

When using a Dynamic Media text, Pirsonal expects a text string. This field can be empty, although it is expected when testing a Zap through the Zapier platform.

Dynamic Media fields are available for personalization through Pirsonal’s Campaign tool, also through Zapier or similar integrations.

A Template Media also called static media differs from Dynamic Media in that it is predefined or fixed content. This means that the object set as Template Media won’t be personalized.

Only the following objects can be Template Media:

  • Video
  • Image
  • Audio
  • Text
  • Rectangle

Template Media objects or layers can be uploaded from the user’s computer and then stored in Pirsonal, or come from a URL or an Amazon S3 bucket.
