Pirsonal uses a one-time passcode (OTP) security mechanism to confirm a user’s identity when accessing their account with a user ID and password.
The OTP is a two-factor (2FA) authentication system that needs the user’s email to generate a unique code for a single use after the user enters their login credentials.
Using both a password and the one-time password provides greater security than using just a password. Furthermore, users must access their email to view the one-time password, thereby enhancing their account’s security.
This is why OTPs are often used in 2-factor authentication (2FA) and multifactor authentication (MFA) systems to protect user accounts from unauthorized access.

How to activate the one-time passcode option
Please note that the use of OTP is optional.
To activate it, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Pirsonal account.
- Go to “Settings”.
- Under the “Your Contact Details” section, find “Two-Factor Authentication with One-time Passcode”.
- Click on the checkbox.
- To activate OTP for your account, click “Save”.
How many minutes is the one-time passcode available?
One-time passcodes are valid for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, that specific one-time passcode is no longer valid, and the user must request a new one.
To request a new one, refresh your browser tab and provide your login information, including your email and password.
I haven’t received the passcode by email yet
If you haven’t received your one-time passcode by email yet, please double-check that the email is not in the SPAM or similar folders. If it is not there, please wait up to 30 minutes to request a new one.
I can’t access the email to which the passcode was sent
If you can’t access the email to which the passcode was sent, please contact your Pirsonal Account Manager to verify your identity.
Please note that, for security reasons, Pirsonal does not have access to your OTP.
